For God so loved the world...

Most Christians know this scripture, and even nonbelievers know this scripture. But, are we living the scripture? i know that people know why Jesus came, and how He left, even though brutally, but do people really care?? I mean you go to a nonbeliever and say, "Why did Jesus die?" and they will say "He died for my sins" Of course he did, but do we embrace His death, or do we just push it away like a stranger's death? If people tell you they live for Jesus, and they are good, but then they go an destroy innocent lives? Where is the love there? If you want to LIVE for Jesus, then, do the ten commandments. The commandment that I love the most is the 1st one. "Love no other God than I, love with your whole heart, mind and spirit." If we do that, they would be no more violence, no more wars, because we would have only one devotion, God, and His Word.

"For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, and that whoever believes in him, should not perish but, have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through Him. Whoever belives in him is not condemned, but whoever does not beieve is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God." John 3:16-18; ESV

April 2, 2009- deuteronomy 7-8

A Chosen People 1"When the(A) LORD your God brings you into the land that you are entering to take possession of it, and clears away many nations before you,(B) the Hittites, the Girgashites, the Amorites, the Canaanites, the Perizzites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites, seven nations(C) more numerous and mightier than yourselves, 2(D) and when the LORD your God gives them over to you, and you defeat them, then you must(E) devote them to complete destruction.[a](F) You shall make no covenant with them and show no mercy to them. 3(G) You shall not intermarry with them, giving your daughters to their sons or taking their daughters for your sons, 4for they would turn away your sons from following me, to serve other gods.(H) Then the anger of the LORD would be kindled against you, and he would destroy you(I) quickly. 5But thus shall you deal with them:(J) you shall break down their altars and dash in pieces their(K) pillars and chop down their Asherim and burn their carved images with fire. 6"For(L) you are a people holy to the LORD your God. The LORD your God has chosen you to be a people for his treasured possession, out of all the peoples who are on the face of the earth. 7It was not because you were more in number than any other people that the LORD set his love on you and chose you, for you were the fewest of all peoples, 8but(M) it is because the LORD loves you and is keeping(N) the oath that he swore to your fathers, that the LORD has brought you out with a mighty hand and redeemed you from the house of slavery, from the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt. 9Know therefore that the LORD your God is God,(O) the faithful God(P) who keeps covenant and steadfast love with those who love him and keep his commandments, to a thousand generations, 10and(Q) repays to their face those who hate him, by destroying them.(R) He will not be slack with one who hates him. He will repay him to his face. 11(S) You shall therefore be careful to do the commandment and the statutes and the rules that I command you today. 12(T) "And because you listen to these rules and keep and do them, the LORD your God will keep with you(U) the covenant and the steadfast love that he swore to your fathers. 13He will(V) love you, bless you, and multiply you.(W) He will also bless the fruit of your womb and the fruit of your ground, your grain and your wine and your oil, the increase of your herds and the young of your flock, in the land that he swore to your fathers to give you. 14You shall be blessed above all peoples.(X) There shall not be male or female barren among you or among your livestock. 15And the LORD will take away from you all sickness, and none of the evil(Y) diseases of Egypt, which you knew, will he inflict on you, but he will lay them on all who hate you. 16And(Z) you shall consume all the peoples that the LORD your God will give over to you.(AA) Your eye shall not pity them, neither shall you serve their gods, for that would be(AB) a snare to you. 17"If you say in your heart, 'These nations are greater than I. How can I dispossess them?' 18(AC) you shall not be afraid of them but you shall(AD) remember what the LORD your God did to Pharaoh and to all Egypt, 19the great trials that your eyes saw,(AE) the signs, the wonders, the mighty hand, and the outstretched arm, by which the LORD your God brought you out. So will the LORD your God do to all the peoples of whom you are afraid. 20Moreover,(AF) the LORD your God will send hornets among them, until those who are left and hide themselves from you are destroyed. 21You shall not be in dread of them, for the LORD your God is(AG) in your midst,(AH) a great and awesome God. 22(AI) The LORD your God will clear away these nations before you little by little. You may not make an end of them at once,[b] lest the wild beasts grow too numerous for you. 23(AJ) But the LORD your God will give them over to you and throw them into great confusion, until they are destroyed. 24And(AK) he will give their kings into your hand, and you shall(AL) make their name perish from under heaven.(AM) No one shall be able to stand against you until you have destroyed them. 25The carved images of their gods(AN) you shall burn with fire. You(AO) shall not covet the silver or the gold that is on them or take it for yourselves, lest you be(AP) ensnared by it, for it is an abomination to the LORD your God. 26And you shall not bring an abominable thing into your house and become devoted to destruction[c] like it. You shall utterly detest and abhor it,(AQ) for it is devoted to destruction. Deuteronomy 8 Remember the LORD Your God 1"The whole commandment that I command you today(AR) you shall be careful to do, that you may live and multiply, and go in and possess the land that the LORD swore to give to your fathers. 2And you shall remember the whole way that the LORD your God has led you(AS) these forty years in the wilderness, that he might humble you,(AT) testing you(AU) to know what was in your heart,(AV) whether you would keep his commandments or not. 3And he humbled you and(AW) let you hunger and(AX) fed you with manna, which you did not know, nor did your fathers know, that he might make you know that(AY) man does not live by bread alone, but man lives by every word[d] that comes from the mouth of the LORD. 4(AZ) Your clothing did not wear out on you and your foot did not swell these forty years. 5Know then in your heart that,(BA) as a man disciplines his son, the LORD your God disciplines you. 6So you shall keep the commandments of the LORD your God by walking in his ways and by fearing him. 7For the LORD your God is bringing you into a good land,(BB) a land of brooks of water, of fountains and springs, flowing out in the valleys and hills, 8a land of wheat and barley,(BC) of vines and fig trees and pomegranates, a land of olive trees and honey, 9a land in which you will eat bread without scarcity, in which you will lack nothing, a land whose stones are iron, and out of whose hills you can dig copper. 10And you shall eat and be full, and you shall bless the LORD your God for the good land he has given you. 11"Take care lest you forget the LORD your God by not keeping his commandments and his rules and his statutes, which I command you today, 12(BD) lest, when you have eaten and are full and have built good houses and live in them, 13and when your herds and flocks multiply and your silver and gold is multiplied and all that you have is multiplied, 14(BE) then your heart be lifted up, and you(BF) forget the LORD your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery, 15who(BG) led you through the great and terrifying wilderness,(BH) with its fiery serpents and scorpions(BI) and thirsty ground where there was no water,(BJ) who brought you water out of the flinty rock, 16who fed you in the wilderness with(BK) manna that your fathers did not know, that he might humble you and test you,(BL) to do you good in the end. 17Beware(BM) lest you say in your heart, 'My power and the might of my hand have gotten me this wealth.' 18You shall remember the LORD your God, for(BN) it is he who gives you power to get wealth,(BO) that he may confirm his covenant that he swore to your fathers, as it is this day. 19And if you forget the LORD your God and go after other gods and serve them and worship them,(BP) I solemnly warn you today that you shall surely perish. 20Like the nations that the LORD makes to perish before you,(BQ) so shall you perish, because you would not obey the voice of the LORD your God

       And there arose on that day a great persecution against the church in Jerusalem, andC)'>(C) they were all scattered throughout the regions of Judea and Samaria, except the apostles. 2Devout men buried Stephen and made great lamentation over him. 3ButD)'>(D) Saul was ravaging the church, and entering house after house, heE)'>(E) dragged off men and women and committed them to prison. Simon the Magician Believes 9But there was a man named Simon,L)'>(L) who had previously practiced magic in the city and amazed the people of Samaria,M)'>(M) saying that he himself was somebody great. 10They all paid attention to him, from the least to the greatest, saying,N)'>(N) "This man is the power of God that is calledO)'>(O) Great." 11And they paid attention to him because for a long time he hadP)'>(P) amazed them with his magic. 12But whenQ)'>(Q) they believed Philip as he preached good newsR)'>(R) about the kingdom of God and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women. 13Even Simon himself believed, and after being baptized he continued with Philip. Philip and the Ethiopian Eunuch 26NowAL)'>(AL) an angel of the Lord said to Philip, "Rise and go toward the southd]'>[d] to the road that goes down from Jerusalem to Gaza." This is a desert place. 27And he rose and went. February 11-EXODUS 28; Psalm 38; LUKE 2

EXODUS 28: The Priests’ Garments 1"Then bring near to you(A) Aaron your brother, and his sons with him, from among the people of Israel, to serve me as priests—Aaron and Aaron’s sons,(B) Nadab and Abihu, Eleazar and Ithamar. 2(C) And you shall make holy garments for Aaron your brother, for glory and for beauty. 3You shall speak to all the(D) skillful, whom I have filled with a spirit of skill, that they make Aaron’s garments to consecrate him for my priesthood. 4These are the garments that they shall make: a(E) breastpiece, an(F) ephod,(G) a robe,(H) a coat of checker work, a turban, and a sash. They shall make holy garments for Aaron your brother and his sons to serve me as priests. 5They shall receive(I) gold, blue and purple and scarlet yarns, and fine twined linen.

6(J) "And they shall make the ephod of gold, of blue and purple and scarlet yarns, and of fine twined linen, skillfully worked. 7It shall have two shoulder pieces attached to its two edges, so that it may be joined together. 8And the(K) skillfully woven band on it shall be made like it and be of one piece with it, of gold, blue and purple and scarlet yarns, and fine twined linen. 9You shall take two onyx stones, and engrave on them the names of the sons of Israel, 10six of their names on the one stone, and the names of the remaining six on the other stone, in the order of their birth. 11As a jeweler engraves signets, so shall you engrave the two stones with the names of the sons of Israel. You shall enclose them in settings of gold filigree. 12And you shall set the two stones on the shoulder pieces of the ephod, as stones of remembrance for the sons of Israel. And(L) Aaron shall bear their names before the LORD on his two shoulders(M) for remembrance. 13You shall make settings of gold filigree, 14and two chains of pure gold, twisted like cords; and you shall attach the corded chains to the settings. 15(N) "You shall make a breastpiece of judgment, in skilled work. In the style of the ephod you shall make it—of gold, blue and purple and scarlet yarns, and fine twined linen shall you make it. 16It shall be square and doubled, a span[a] its length and a span its breadth. 17(O) You shall set in it four rows of stones. A row of sardius,[b] topaz, and carbuncle shall be the first row; 18and the second row an emerald, a sapphire, and a diamond; 19and the third row a jacinth, an agate, and an amethyst; 20and the fourth row a beryl, an onyx, and a jasper. They shall be set in gold filigree. 21There shall be twelve stones with their names according to the names of the sons of Israel. They shall be like signets, each engraved with its name, for the twelve tribes. 22You shall make for the breastpiece twisted chains like cords, of pure gold. 23And you shall make for the breastpiece two rings of gold, and put the two rings on the two edges of the breastpiece. 24And you shall put the two cords of gold in the two rings at the edges of the breastpiece. 25The two ends of the two cords you shall attach to the two settings of filigree, and so attach it in front to the shoulder pieces of the ephod. 26You shall make two rings of gold, and put them at the two ends of the breastpiece, on its inside edge next to the ephod. 27And you shall make two rings of gold, and attach them in front to the lower part of the two shoulder pieces of the ephod, at its seam above the(P) skillfully woven band of the ephod. 28And they shall bind the breastpiece by its rings to the rings of the ephod with a lace of blue, so that it may lie on the skillfully woven band of the ephod, so that the breastpiece shall not come loose from the ephod. 29(Q) So Aaron shall bear the names of the sons of Israel in the breastpiece of judgment on his heart, when he goes into the Holy Place, to bring them to regular(R) remembrance before the LORD. 30And in the breastpiece of judgment(S) you shall put the Urim and the Thummim, and they shall be on Aaron’s heart, when he goes in before the LORD. Thus Aaron shall bear the judgment of the people of Israel on his heart before the LORD regularly. 31(T) "You shall make the robe of the ephod all of blue. 32It shall have an opening for the head in the middle of it, with a woven binding around the opening, like the opening in a garment,[c] so that it may not tear. 33On its hem you shall make pomegranates of blue and purple and scarlet yarns, around its hem, with bells of gold between them, 34a golden bell and a pomegranate, a golden bell and a pomegranate, around the hem of the robe. 35And it shall be on Aaron when he ministers, and its sound shall be heard when he goes into the Holy Place before the LORD, and when he comes out, so that he does not die. 36"You shall make(U) a plate of pure gold and engrave on it, like the engraving of a signet,(V) 'Holy to the LORD.' 37And you shall fasten it on the turban by a cord of blue. It shall be on the front of the turban. 38It shall be on Aaron’s forehead, and Aaron shall(W) bear any guilt from the holy things that the people of Israel consecrate as their holy gifts. It shall regularly be on his forehead, that they may be accepted before the LORD. 39"You shall weave the coat in checker work of fine linen, and you shall make a turban of fine linen, and you shall make a sash embroidered with needlework. 40(X) "For Aaron’s sons you shall make coats and sashes and caps. You shall make them(Y) for glory and beauty. 41And you shall put them on Aaron your brother, and on his sons with him, and shall(Z) anoint them and ordain them and(AA) consecrate them, that they may serve me as priests. 42You shall make for them(AB) linen undergarments to cover their naked flesh. They shall reach from the hips to the thighs; 43and they shall be on Aaron and on his sons when they go into the tent of meeting or when they come near the altar to minister in the Holy Place, lest they(AC) bear guilt and die.(AD) This shall be a statute forever for him and for his offspring after him.

PSALM 38:

The LORD Is My Strength and My Shield Of David. 1To you, O LORD, I call;
   (A) my rock, be not deaf to me,lest, if you(B) be silent to me,
   I become like those who(C) go down to the pit.2(D) Hear the voice of my pleas for mercy,
   when I cry to you for help,when I(E) lift up my hands
   (F) toward your most holy sanctuary.[a]

3Do not(G) drag me off with the wicked,
   with the workers of evil,(H) who speak peace with their neighbors
   while evil is in their hearts.4(I) Give to them according to their work
   and according to the evil of their deeds;give to them according to the work of their hands;
   (J) render them their due reward.5Because they(K) do not regard the works of the LORD
   or the work of his hands,he will tear them down and build them up no more. 6Blessed be the LORD!
   For he has(L) heard the voice of my pleas for mercy.7The LORD is my strength and(M) my shield;
   in him my heart(N) trusts, and I am helped;my heart exults,
   and with my(O) song I give thanks to him. 8The LORD is the strength of his people;[b]
   he is(P) the saving refuge of his anointed.9Oh, save your people and bless(Q) your heritage!
   (R) Be their shepherd and(S) carry them forever

LUKE 2:

The Birth of Jesus Christ 1In those days(A) a decree went out from(B) Caesar Augustus that all the world should be(C) registered. 2This was the first(D) registration when[a] Quirinius(E) was governor of Syria. 3And all went to be registered, each to his own town. 4And Joseph also went up(F) from Galilee, from the town of(G) Nazareth, to Judea, to(H) the city of David, which is called(I) Bethlehem,(J) because he was of the house and lineage of David, 5to be registered with Mary, his betrothed,[b] who was with child. 6And(K) while they were there, the time came for her to give birth. 7And she gave birth to her firstborn son and(L) wrapped him in swaddling cloths and(M) laid him in a manger, because there was no place for them in(N) the inn.

The Shepherds and the Angels 8And in the same region there were shepherds out in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. 9And an angel of the Lord(O) appeared to them, and(P) the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were filled with fear. 10And the angel said to them, "Fear not, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all(Q) the people. 11For(R) unto you is born this day in(S) the city of David(T) a Savior, who is(U) Christ(V) the Lord. 12And(W) this will be a sign for you: you will find a baby(X) wrapped in swaddling cloths and lying in a manger." 13And suddenly there was with the angel(Y) a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying,
14(Z) "Glory to God(AA) in the highest,
   (AB) and on earth(AC) peace among those with whom he is pleased!"[c]

15When the angels went away from them into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, "Let us go over to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has made known to us." 16And they went with haste and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby(AD) lying in a manger. 17And when they saw it, they made known the saying that had been told them concerning this child. 18And all who heard it wondered at what the shepherds told them. 19But(AE) Mary treasured up all these things, pondering them in her heart. 20And the shepherds returned,(AF) glorifying and praising God for all they had heard and seen, as it had been told them. 21And(AG) at the end of eight days, when he was circumcised,(AH) he was called Jesus, the name given by the angel before he was conceived in the womb. Jesus Presented at the Temple 22And(AI) when the time came for their purification according to the Law of Moses, they brought him up to Jerusalem(AJ) to present him to the Lord 23(as it is written in(AK) the Law of the Lord,(AL) "Every male who first opens the womb shall be called holy to the Lord") 24and to offer a sacrifice according to what is said in(AM) the Law of the Lord,(AN) "a pair of turtledoves, or two young pigeons." 25Now there was a man in Jerusalem, whose name was Simeon, and this man was(AO) righteous and(AP) devout,(AQ) waiting for(AR) the consolation of Israel, and the Holy Spirit was upon him. 26And it had been revealed to him by the Holy Spirit that he would not(AS) see death before he had seen(AT) the Lord’s Christ. 27And he came in the Spirit into the temple, and when(AU) the parents brought in the child Jesus, to do for him according to the custom of the Law, 28he took him up in his arms and(AV) blessed God and said,
29"Lord, now you are letting your servant[d] depart(AW) in peace,
   (AX) according to your word;30for(AY) my eyes have seen your(AZ) salvation
31(BA) that you have prepared in the presence of all peoples,32(BB) a light for revelation to the Gentiles,
   and(BC) for glory to(BD) your people Israel."

33And(BE) his father and his mother marveled at what was said about him. 34And Simeon blessed them and said to Mary his mother, "Behold, this child is appointed(BF) for the fall and rising of many in Israel, and for a sign(BG) that is opposed 35(and a sword will pierce through your own soul also), so that thoughts from many hearts may be revealed." 36And there was(BH) a prophetess, Anna, the daughter of Phanuel, of the tribe of Asher. She was advanced in years, having lived with her husband seven years from when she was a virgin, 37and then as a widow until she was eighty-four.[e] She did not depart from the temple,(BI) worshiping with(BJ) fasting and prayer night and day. 38And coming up at that very hour she began to give thanks to God and to speak of him to all who were(BK) waiting for the redemption of Jerusalem. The Return to Nazareth 39And when they had performed everything according to(BL) the Law of the Lord, they returned into Galilee, to their own town of(BM) Nazareth. 40(BN) And the child grew and became strong, filled with wisdom. And the favor of God was upon him.

The Boy Jesus in the Temple 41Now(BO) his parents went(BP) to Jerusalem every year at(BQ) the Feast of the Passover. 42And when he was twelve years old,(BR) they went up according to custom. 43And when the feast(BS) was ended, as they were returning, the boy Jesus stayed behind in Jerusalem.(BT) His parents did not know it, 44but supposing him to be in the group they went a day’s journey, but then they began to search for him among their relatives and acquaintances, 45and when they did not find him, they returned to Jerusalem, searching for him. 46After three days they found him in the temple,(BU) sitting among(BV) the teachers, listening to them and asking them questions. 47And all who heard him were amazed at his understanding and his answers. 48And when his parents[f] saw him, they were astonished. And his mother said to him, "Son, why have you treated us so? Behold,(BW) your father and I have been searching for you in great distress." 49And he said to them, "Why were you looking for me? Did you not know that(BX) I must be in(BY) my Father’s house?"[g] 50And(BZ) they did not understand the saying that he spoke to them. 51And he went down with them and came to Nazareth and was submissive to them. And(CA) his mother treasured up all these things in her heart.
